Volunteers participating on a Journalism project in Togo can choose to work with a public radio station or with a private press association where it is possible to combine print, radio and TV journalism or choose to focus on one area. Both placements are based in the vibrant capital city of Lomé.

Your Role as a Journalism Volunteer in Togo

At both placements you will work alongside the small team of local journalists and will be given a range of responsibilities. At the radio station you may be broadcasting live on air and taking part in discussion shows. At the press association you can get involved in a huge variety of activities including researching stories and interviewing people or writing and translating articles. You can also write pieces before broadcasting them on the radio or at the television station.

Volunteers will receive guidance from their supervisor at the placement. The Projects Abroad office is also located near by, so staff are always on hand to offer any support needed.
